Big News- New Starts....Including here on the blog.

I have been stationed in New Jersey since the end of 2010. When I landed here, this So-Cal girl had never lived in a winter climate. I had never driven in snow. I own only one pair of closed toe shoes, and I had never experienced this glories thing called a snow day. I have done all that and so much more. I have been into NYC multiple times and seen all the sights. I have seen 3 on Broadway shows, the statue of Liberty, 9/11 memorial and so much more.

The Ex and I travel into Philly and stayed for a long weekend. We saw the Liberty Bell, did a ghost tour, went to both Pat and Geno's, and soaked up all the history that Philly has to offer. I took many nights to enjoy the nightlife Philly has to offer too.

I also took time to go to D.C, which turned out to be my favorite city ever! I saw ALL the sights. I'm not even kidding. If it is in D.C I have been to it. This history nerd thoroughly enjoyed D.C!

So, for the last year I've been hanging out close to home. Hoping that one day the Air Force would send me somewhere else. I can finally, and officially say, that I got orders!

The next chapter in my life is going to take place in Panama City, Florida at Tyndall AFB! This So-Cal girl is so happy to be back in a beach town! I have to be there in a little under 4 months! To say that my to-do list just got a lot bigger, is an under statement!

I think Florida and I will get along just dandy! Now I need to get my body in gear for that year round beach body I need! Yikes!

San Diego--My hometown

San Diego……beautiful beautiful San Diego. My hometown is so stunning. This trip helped centered me and reminds me that my world is right.

Highlights from this trip:
• My Best Friend of 15 years is here, enough said.
• Mexican Food!!!!
• The Pacific Ocean
• Lazy days by the pool!
My best friend and I went to our favorite wine bar, headed to the pacific ocean, BBQ'ed with our good friends, and downtown nights spent laughing a bit too hard! All in all, my trip to San Diego was just what I needed to restore balance to my soul!

Summer 2014 Recap: Viva Las Vegas!

Vegas is this weird kind-of-hometown to me. My family all moved there after I enlisted, so I stopped in at Vegas to see my momma! I hadn’t seen her in almost a year and I missed her something fierce. One of my friends from the Air Force had separated a year prior and got a job as a contractor overseas. So a bunch of us were meeting her in Vegas for a little R&R!

Highlights from this trip:
• Seeing my momma and getting to practice yoga with her
• Sitting pool side every day of the trip (and of course day drinking)
• Getting a day cabana, I might not be able to be pool side in Vegas any other way.
• In N Out Burger…..need I say more?

This was our view from the hotel room. I got to Vegas 4 days ahead of my friends, so I stayed with my momma during that time. Then I transferred over to our hotel room. The cool things was none of us realized that it was the Billboard Music Award weekend. We saw tons of celebrities. None of my friends are big on celebrities so we didn't get any pictures. Although we heard a rumor Luke Bryan was in the hotel, and it's a good thing I didn't know his room number otherwise I would have needed bail money.

This is our day cabana and that's my tiny momma in there!!!! We were spoiled rotten with this cabana. We had our own wait staff, full screen tv, fridge, full couches, and fans. It was wonderfull!

Heading out to one of the new Nightclubs. Clearly we had been drinking all day at the pool and still have our drinks in our hand. My friend's boyfriend decided to direct a photo shoot while walking to the elevator, clearly we were eating it up and having a blast.

Day two at the cabana. This was our view. We had a great staff that we had a blast with and spoiled us rotten. We were right next to the lazy river and the bar, our dream location.

This is me and one of my co-workers. I thought it was pretty funny that I flew to the other side of the country to party with someone who lives right down the street. We had such a great time.

I had a great trip! After my friends left I still had 4 more days in Las Vegas that I spent with my family. Lazy days, good food, and time with family. It was the perfect way to wrap up a busy non-stop trip.

Next stop: Back to my home town of San Diego!

Summer 2014: Recap

Let’s get right to it, shall we?

This summer was the summer for concerts, tailgating, and a month long vacay that included 4 states and countless memories.

First up:

One of my BFF’s from back home came stay with me for a week.

Highlights from her trip included:
• Seeing Chicago on Broadway.
• Taking the train to NYC 5 out of 6 days of her vacay.
• Playing tourist for two days straight and seeing almost every major thing in NYC to see.
• Misreading the train schedule and being stuck in NYC till 5:45am. We toughed it out and drank until the morning commuter train came to get us.
• Eating at Cracker Barrel at 8am hung over, and then sleeping for 4 hours before we headed to Atlantic City for the night!

First stop, D&D for some iced coffee.

We came home, dropped her bags off and headed right into the city!

Our first day in the city the weather wasn't too great. So we did all the inside tourist things and hoped for better weather in the coming days.

As you can see, the weather gods smiled on us and gave us beautiful weather the very next day!

So we spent our day seeing the sights, and we went to visit this beautiful lady! It was my first time too!

The next night we went to see Chicago on Broadway! It was a great play!

After the play we went out for a late dinner and drinks. I misread the train schedule and we ended up being stuck in NYC till 5:45am. Thankfully, the bars in NYC are open till 4am. So we hunkered down in this great scotch bar that had an amazing bouncer who kept an eye on us since he knew we didn't mean to be in the city so late and alone. Honestly, this guy was so amazing he even hailed our cab and yelled at the driver to not take us the long way. He told us "If he takes you down 8th ave, don't pay him!"

After a wonderful breakfast at Cracker Barrel (her first time there since we don't have them on the West Coast!), we headed home to grab some Z's. My handsome man loves a new friend to cuddle!

After 4 hours of sleep we got up and rallied! We headed to Atlantic City to visit Margaritaville, Hard Rock Cafe, and Landshark Bar and Grille. Landshark had a great deck with some live music so we sat on the deck, had some drinks, and just enjoyed the moment!

We had a great trip. We saw so many sights: The 9/11 memorial (which we didn't take pictures of because we both believe it is insanely disrespectful to take pictures on hollow ground), Ellis Island, Lady Liberty, Penn Station, the whispering wall, Empire State Building, Time Square.....just to name a few. We barely slept, but we had a blast and made so many memories!
Next up: Vegas!
